
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is an all India level engineering entrance exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) every year. Students who want admission to engineering courses in the esteemed 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIITs, deemed universities and other centrally funded technical institutions need to take the exam and meet its cut-off percentage. JEE Main is conducted in two parts i.e. Paper I and Paper II. Paper I (B.E. / B. Tech.) will be conducted in both Computer-based (Online) and Paper-Pen based (Offline) mode while Paper II (B. Arch./B. Planning) will be conducted in Pen-Paper based mode only.
As per the schedule released by the exam conducting bodies JEE Main 2020 will be held on April 15 and 16, 2020. The online registration process for JEE Main started on December 01, 2019 and ended on January 1, 2020. The authorities also allow the candidates to correct errors in the JEE Main application form 2020 by opening a form correction window. For JEE Main, the application form correction window was open from January 9 to 22, 2020 with the last date to pay the fee on January 23. Candidates who have already passed class 12th or have appeared for the exams are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2020 exam. A total of 11,48,000 candidates have filled JEE Main application form 2020.
Candidates willing to appear for JEE Advanced 2020 will first have to qualify JEE Main 2020. JEE Main is the qualifying exam to enter into the next phase of admission to 23 IITs that except JEE score.

JEE Main 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Not every student who has cleared 12th or studying in class 12th is eligible to apply for the exam. There are some predefined conditions that candidates need to meet to be eligible for JEE Main 2020. Given below are the conditions candidates need to fulfill to meet JEE Main 2020 eligibility criteria.
Age Limit:
Candidates born on or after October 01, 1993 are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2020 examination. There will be a relaxation of 5 years for the students belonging to SC, ST, and PwD category.
Educational Qualification:
For B.E/ B. Tech:
Candidates must have qualified 12th standard with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate, whereas 10% of relaxation is given to SC/ST candidates, who need to present 65% of marks in 10+2 qualification. Also, 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics will be mandatory to be able to appear for JEE Mains 2020 along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
For B.Arch./ B. Planning:
The applicant must have studied Mathematics as the main subject along with 50% marks in total including five subjects from a recognised board.
According to the recent amendment, Class XII marks will not be given any weightage for final selections in JEE.
JEE Main 2020 Application Details
The candidates can fill JEE Main 2020 application form in online mode only. Applicants are required to fill up the requisite information, upload a scanned photograph, signature and thumb impression while filling up the online form. After submitting the details, an acknowledgment page will be generated. Applicant must take a print out of the page for further references.

The application fee can be paid by credit/debit card or by depositing fee in cash in the Syndicate/ Canara/ ICICI/ HDFC bank through e-challan generated during the online filling of application form.
Documents required for filling IIT JEE Registration Form 2020
- Class X certificate
- Class XII certificate
- If the name is changed in the in the Class X certificate, then a certificate by gazette officer need to be submitted showing the change of name.
- From this year, candidates filling JEE Main application form will also be required to upload a scanned copy of father/ mother/ guardian’s signature
JEE Main Admit Card 2020
CBSE will provide JEE Main admit card 2020 most probably in the second week of March 2020. Admit card for JEE Main 2020 will be available only in the online mode, which applicants need to collect by visiting the official website. Admit cards will be uploaded only for the candidates who successfully submitted their application before the last date and without any mistakes. Candidates without JEE Main admit card 2020 will not get entry into the examination hall. So make sure you download it before the last date and keep it safe to carry it on the exam day.

- Click on the submit button
- It will allow the candidates to download their admit card
- Check the details and take a printout of the JEE Main admit card 2020
Application fees detail
JEE Main application process will complete only after payment of the application fee. Candidates can pay JEE Main application fee 2020 both in online as well as offline mode. Given below are the details to pay JEE Main application fee for both the options:

The paper pattern of JEE Main 2018 was no different from previous years’ pattern. There were 90 multiple choice type questions carrying 4 marks each with one correct option. The JEE Main 2018 paper was of 360 marks divided into three sections. Each section had 30 questions of 120 marks.

Physics:
Two questions in Physics section had more than one correct answers.
Mathematics:
Students found Mathematics section quite good, but a bit lengthy as well.

JEE Main 2020 Counselling/Interview
Students will be offered admission based on their choices and their all India rank through Seat Allocation Process which will be announced later. Candidates who meet the minimum cutoff criteria and get their names in AIR will only be called for the counselling round. Candidates should carefully check the venue and schedule. They should reach the counselling location along with all the required documents to ensure that no problem occurs during the admission process.

JEE Main 2020 Exam Syllabus
CBSE has already released JEE Main syllabus 2020. Candidates should carefully check the syllabus and plan their exam preparation strategies accordingly. JEE Main 2020 syllabus basically includes the topics and chapters from which the questions are asked in the engineering entrance test.
JEE Main Syllabus for Paper I – It includes topics from physics, chemistry, and mathematics (PCM) from CBSE, ICSE and state board’s class 11th and 12th syllabus.
JEE Main Syllabus for Paper II – JEE Main paper II includes questions from Mathematics, aptitude and drawing.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2020) will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), participating State Government Institutions etc.
For admission to NITs, CFTIs like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to IIT JEE (Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalisation.
The IIT JEE (Main) will also be the eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ ISM Dhanbad.
JEE Mains 2020 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.). Depending upon the course(s) candidates are seeking admission, they may take Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.), or both.
Number of Attempts
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three).
JEE Main 2020 Exam Centres
Looking at the increasing number of candidates applying for the exam, CBSE has added more examination centres. Total number of JEE Main 2020 examination centres has increased from 113 last year to 258 this year. Out of total 248 examination centres of JEE Main 2020, 248 are in India while 10 exam centres are outside India. Candidates opting for pen-and-paper based test get choice of 4 JEE Main 2020 exam centres while those opting for online exam were allowed to choose only one exam centre while filling the application form. While filling the application form, candidates should carefully check the list of available examination centres and pick the options most comfortable and suitable to their location.
